Merry Christmas!

Before we came to the UK for the pre-Christmas season, we bought an amazing Jeep Rubicon and managed to transport 1 ton of porcelain floor tiles into the chalet with this flimsy trailer in December! The floor is done now, all grouted, with the underfloor heating on, cozy warm chalet:)

Since there has been a lot of snow, the builder - as you can imagine, hasn’t been around much so the works are on hold once again.

Roll on spring!:)

On the way back to Slovakia for the actual Christmas, we had an unexpected stop in Brussels - our clutch packed up in Suzuki on 22/12 night time. With God’s help and kindness of the recovery worker we got toed away and stayed the night in a temporary hotel, and found a Turkish garage in the morning that was happy to fix our car on 23rd+24th. Soon we realised the dogs are not really that liked in Brussel, so we had trouble looking for a hotel. We ended up in fancy Plaza Hotel in Brussels that just looked like from Home Alone movie, what a beautiful stay that was considering the circumstances! We successfully continued driving to Slovakia on Christmas Eve 7pm and arrived on 25th early morning.

Tom and Izzy saved the Christmas and served a brought in Christmas dinner in tupperware on the 24th Eve, and catered for the grandparents since we were missing. Also later on, Gill and Terry came to join us on the 28th for New Year’s. We did some nice city and mountain walks around, and the Slovak grandparents Vlado & Marta were pouring their famous Hubert Sparkling wine and Andrew cooking his famous roast goose and duck whole festive season.
